Research training:
“Transforming aggression into balanced emotions”
This training was developed and tested for the Master Your Emotions (MYE) programme with the TES (Telephone Emotional Support) volunteers within the E4P and IFOTES partnership. Every day TES volunteers experience the need to manage their own emotions and successfully communicate with some of the callers who can have aggressive and violent behaviour.
The best chance of improving the quality of listening services is to continuously improve the quality of the training the listeners receive, especially with regard to improving their coping and emotional skills. This new training concept will help volunteers deal with emotions related to aggression and violence, both their own and those of the callers.
The objective is to have this training tested with football referees, an audience which is particularly exposed to managing aggressive behavior.
